The annual Intermediate Schools' Cup shall be held on 31 July 2009. The tournament designed for years 9-10 students offers a competitive yet friendly debating environment and a high standard of adjudication.

ADAM - 26-28th June
'Another Day At Melbourne,' or 'ADAM,' is an annual debating tournament held in the Australasian 3-on-3 debating style. It is Australia's number one pre-Australs invitational tournament and regularly features a high standard of debating from universities around Australia and around the world. This year promises ADAM to be the biggest and best yet, with Australs being hosted in Melbourne just a week afterwards. For this reason many of the best debaters and adjudicators from the Australasian region are using ADAM as an opportunity to hone their skills against a very high standard of competition.

The Australasian Intervarsity Debating Championships (Australs) is the most prestigious debating tournament in the Asia-Pacific region. The tournament is considered the most intellectually demanding in the world, and is recognized for its high standards of debating and adjudication. Over its thirty-year history, Australs has developed international appeal, regularly attracting up to 400 competitors from across the Asia-Pacific region, including delegates from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh and the Philippines.

Easters Results
After 6 rounds of debating at Australian Debating Championships at the University of Queensland, Brisbane. Macquarie has come out with impressive results. Our top two teams MAC 1 (Amy Van de Ruit, Nick Ferrari and Ashleigh Shand) & MAC 2 (Daniel Delimihalis, Kirstie Twigg, Rommel Varghese) broke to the Octo-finals. Felicity Wilson broke to the semi-finals as an adjudicator.
Worlds Results
After 9 hectic rounds of debating the teams from Macquarie have pulled off an excellent result. MAC A and B finished on 14 points and MAC C on 13 points. The collective total of points rose Macquarie from 33rd in the world to 30th.
